Roll Ups Fused Glass: A Collaboration with a Professional Glass Blower
In this unique class, we combine the art of glass fusing with the magic of glassblowing through a rollup fused glass technique. Here’s how it works:
You’ll start by designing and creating a flat fused glass blank (8″x10″ and 9mm thick) in our studio, incorporating your choice of colors, patterns, and designs. Once complete, this flat sheet will be heated and rolled onto a glassblower’s pipe at a professional glassblowing studio, where it will be shaped into a stunning 3D object, like a vase or bowl.
While the actual rollup process will take place off-site, our instructor will bring an exclusive video demonstration to show how the transformation happens, giving you insight into this mesmerizing collaboration.
At our studio, we’ll focus on creating the fused glass blanks, allowing you to craft intricate designs that will come to life in the glassblowing process. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to see your fused glass work elevated into a functional and visually stunning piece!
