About Vergine Madelian Artist and Instructor
Vergine is a retired university professor and research scientist in cell and molecular biology.”What I like about fused glass is that once one learns the basics of how glass behaves under different conditions, one can be very creative and push the limits to create unusual and beautiful objects”.
“Parallel to my love of science, I have always had a passion for the arts, especially those that deal with color and texture.” began Vergine, “The brilliance and colors of glass, and the ability to manipulate it through various techniques to achieve dramatic effects fascinate me. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE every phase of working with glass: from designing to cutting, composing and firing. It’s exciting and magical. I’m hooked. But I’m also lucky to have a studio nearby where can learn, experiment and grow.”
“What I like about fused glass is it allows me to go outside the lines to create beautiful organic flowers using nature as my palate. It’s never dull-always exciting and I feel there are many ways of creating beautiful things. There just never seems to be enough time in the day though.”
