Want to dip into the world of Glass Art but have no prior experience or feel you have no creative talent to bring to the table? Are you an experienced artist in other media but have never tried working with glass? Then this is the workshop for you.

This special 5-hour introductory workshop will give you everything you need to know to create your first glass art masterpiece. After taking this glass you will be well prepared to work confidently on your own in our open lab sessions.
In this workshop you will learn  glass fusing terms and definitions, knowledge of the firing process, basic glass cutting including circle cutter and basic machinery use. Our expert instructors will then help you TWO glass art projects.
8″ square and 9″ circle.

About Joci Deaton- Artist and Instructor
Joci Deaton holds a BFA from the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning. After obtaining her degree, Joci taught classes at multiple painting studios in Cincinnati for several years. She began working with glass after becoming an Instructor at the Bullseye Glass Resource Center Los Angeles in 2017. During her time instructing there, Joci had the opportunity to work with many incredible glass artists learning innovative techniques and technically supporting local artists as they experimented with this very unique medium. Joci continues to reside in Los Angeles and is always excited to continue to learn new ways to work with glass and to share that with her classes.

You will complete 2 projects during the session:

1 square retro plate and 1 circle plate
